Heaven Meets Earth Week 42

What does it really mean to believe that Jesus paid it all? Not just as a phrase we sing or a hand we raise when asked, but deep in the core of who we are? Acts 15 drops us into one of the earliest and most consequential debates in church history, a moment when the question of salvation was put on trial. Some were insisting that faith in Christ was not quite enough, that Gentile believers needed to add circumcision and the law of Moses to their faith in order to truly be saved. The council that gathered in Jerusalem to wrestle with this question was not just settling a first-century dispute. They were settling something for every one of us. This message walks us through three powerful benefits of grace: that grace cancels the idea of Jesus plus anything, that grace reveals we all share the same need regardless of our background or religious resume, and that grace teaches us how to live together in genuine community. The spiritual stakes could not be higher. When we start adding requirements to salvation, we chip away at the sufficiency of the cross, we produce either pride or despair in our own hearts, and we build walls that keep others from finding their way to Jesus. The ground is level at the foot of the cross, and that truth alone is enough to reshape how we see ourselves, how we see others, and how we walk out our faith every single day.
