PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

STATUS:
Part Time (20-25 Hours Per Week)

COMPENSATION:
Salaried (Specific particulars of compensation and annual leave will be negotiated at the time of hiring and will conform to the church’s personnel policy.)

SUPERVISOR:
Pastor and School Board

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Follower of Jesus Christ
- Living a life of faith and actively involved in a local church body.
- Knowledge of biblical principles.
- The ability to relate to both children and their parents, grandparents, and other guardians.
- Team worker who can work positively with other staff members.
- A work ethic that is willing to go above and beyond the minimal job requirements when necessary.
- Ability to develop lesson plans.
- Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Training in childhood development preferred.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all operations of the OBC Preschool Program and ensure that they are completed.
- Develop a preschool program that nurtures the faith and education of children.
- Teach children age appropriate materials to further educational development through a Bible based curriculum.
- Make sure a safe, clean environment is maintained for children.
- Build healthy relationships with parents and children.
- Provide clear and consistent communication with parents and church staff.
- Recruit and enroll students into the preschool program.
- Monitor and ensure tuition is paid promptly.
- Make sure registration is completed.
- Supervise preschool staff and oversee preschool staff hirings.
- Plan and coordinate preschool events (field trips, programs, graduation, etc.) with church staff.
- Attend church staff meetings when necessary.
- Communicate with church staff concerning building and school needs.
- Plan and coordinate Preschool finances with the church office to ensure financial health and sustainability.
- Other duties as necessary.
